Dvorak, Carnival Overture
Liszt, Les Preludes
Elgar, Enigma Variations
Evoking an exuberant and celebratory atmosphere, Dvorak’s Carnival Overture welcomes friends old and new and sets the tone as the opening work to this season’s first concert. Liszt’s “Les preludes” – the first musical poem ever composed – follows with imagery of love and nature. The program concludes with the incredible Enigma Variations by Edward Elgar, a piece in which the theme represents the composer and the subsequent 14 variations as musical sketches of some of his closest friends. Come with friends to share an experience and connect.
